Heritage-Led Identity for a German Legal Practice
A heritage-sensitive identity system developed to carry forward a family symbol into a contemporary legal context. The work focused on authority, restraint, and long-term credibility rather than visual novelty. Designed as a scalable system to function across physical, digital, and legal documentation.
Context & Constraint
Dr. Hahn did not seek a rebrand. The brief was to carry forward a family symbol—the rooster (Hahn in German), while elevating it for a legal practice rooted in trust, authority, and continuity.
Design Judgment: Interpreting Heritage
The challenge was interpretive, not expressive. I restructured the rooster into a heraldic form—retaining recognizability while embedding legal symbolism through balance, posture, and containment.
Authority Without Cliché
In a market dominated by predictable legal blues, the identity required authority without imitation. A restrained Gold–charcoal palette and monumental serif typography establish permanence, not trend.
System Thinking
The identity was designed as a system, not a mark. The emblem functions independently, scales across legal documentation, and extends into secondary graphic structures without losing meaning.

The identity supported Dr. Hahn’s continued positioning as a leading legal authority, including recognition as “Bester Anwalt Deutschlands”(Best Lawyer in Germany) for 6 consecutive years.
